Little Ramchandra toddles along, his tiny anklets jingling. Squealing with delight he springs up, stumbles, and tumbles to the ground — and Dasharath's queens rush to scoop him into their laps. They brush the dust from his limbs, caress him in a hundred tender ways, and pour out body, heart, and wealth in love, cooing soft words to him.
